Ward could do a TED talk on the big arc of his ideas.
Agile 2001 complete? essential versus nice-to-have amplifiers? If you could only pick one value and two principles, what would they be? What great work has been done without all Agile values & principles?
What would a minimal Agile definition be today? (The simplest thing that could possibly work? As simple as possibile, but no simpler)
What matters more/most now? e.g. Security? Privacy?
Predictions of emphasis ahead?
Exploring vs Production phases: different process, different rigor? (3Es: Explore, Expand, Extract)
Agile Beyond Software? (Sutherland writes & talks a lot about Agile beyond software.)
DevOps -- What does DevOps add to early ideas of continuous integration and delivery? What do you wish everyone knew about DevOps? Creation of microservices is on the rise, does this mean we can expect to see an increase in the pitfalls considered in the Fallacies of Distributed Computing? If so, how can we work to alleviate those increasing issues?
Axioms of Agile. What ideas are widely accepted as true that we can build? Early feedback adds information to the system. (or does not lessen the information.)
What aspects of agile/scrum/xp have the most compelling proof, data, case studies?
Is there an even simpler model teams could start with? e.g. Early delivery to users, for value, and feedback. Optimize for high value and low cost of change, ...
Ubiquitous Language, Context Map, Context Boundry, Tech Debt, User Stories, Managing Innovation, Fed Wiki uses different, Gradual Agile, Openness & Kindness, humility; Agile Essence, Gradual Agile.
Agile for hardware. With respect to agility, is hardware fundamentally different than software? Is it more different in degree than kind? What is the difference? Hardware is associated with longer cycle times, higher cost changes, etc. Systems with dependencies on hardware, experience delays, cost, and general pain. But isn't that pain analogous to any other dependency we experience in software? There are software subsystems that very expensive/slow/risk to change. Both HW & SW dependencies can be improved by abstraction, dependency inversion, stubbing/faking, alternatives, etc.
What does Ward think about the state of Agile today? Emerging trends? New essence useful?
Why isn't Ward more active in the Agile methodology community? (Other interests? Diminishing returns?)
Einstein said, "A perfection of means, and confusion of aims, seems to be our main problem." Could this bear any resemblance to the state of Agile? We seem to be optimizing a pretty good basic idea of fast cycles and collaboration? Maybe some of other energy could be better spent aim basic Agile on big problems in the world.
Ward, what has you most excited?
Ward, what do you spend most of your time thinking about?
Ward, if you had independent means and a big budget for team of people, what would you do?
Ward, how could Agile best help climate change?
Ward, how could Agile best help poverty?
Should open-source principles be used for sustainability products & processes?
Patents or turned over?
Possible hybrids of open-source basic principles from nature, but patents for unique non-natural embodiments.
Can/should open-source thinking/structures be used for technologies and products in sustainability? (e.g. Biomimicry databases public versus proprietary? Patents turned over? (a la Tesla patents)
Hybrid of open source for fundamental principles, but design patents for truly unique non-natural designs using the principles?
